On or near January 31, 2017, version 56 of the Chrome web browser will be released. Starting with that version, any website that is not running HTTPS will have a message appear in the location bar that says "Not Secure" on pages that collect passwords or credit cards.

The Co-op has made efforts over the last 12 months to ensure ALL co-op services are running over HTTPS. However we are aware of a few minor exceptions within the Libpress service. We are working to secure these, but in the meantime note that any pages which collect sensitive information are already encrypted using secure SSL certificates.

Libraries running their own websites and services or using services from 3rd party providers should also be aware that their patrons may experience the "Not Secure" message if they are not being reached over HTTPS.

Please contact Co-op Support at sitka@bc.libraries.coop if you have any questions.
